While we await the battle in New Orleans there are some local happenings to explore. Hockey enthusiasts will appreciate the latest novel from our esteemed local author Tom Sheehan. His latest novel, his fourth, MURDER AT THE FORUM, about the rivalry between our Bruins and the Montreal Canadians.

The weekly rundown begins with our basketball teams facing the Beverly Panthers. The big cats clawed their way to victory over our Sachems; the boys lost 60 to 47 and the girls 53 to 43. Norma Waggett tossed in 21 points and 10 rebounds for the Lady Sachems and Gianna Zirpolo was outstanding with 12 points. In the boys contest Captain Shane Ripley exploded for 22 points and Brandon Wladkowski added 8 more. Other scorers for the Sachems were Jack Furey with 6, Joe Bertrand with 3, and Ryan Henehan, Dan Cacciola, and Kory Dominick netting 2 each. The next contest had the Sachems doing battle with the Lynn English Bulldogs. The Bulldogs bared their teeth against the Lady Sachems and the result was a 78 to 34 loss for Saugus. The hockey team had a big victory over Revere on Saturday 6 to 3. In one of their best efforts this season our icemen were led by a hat trick from Anthony Ciere to break the four game losing streak.

    Mr. Editor,

I ask you where is the evidence from the campaign with a statement from the business? I would this a followup interview by you or your staff would end this matter as a matter of community service. It is just my opinion to end this issue with the truth.
